Worship at Highland is warm, Christ-centered, encouraging, and emphasizes commitment. People of all generations have the opportunity to meet God in worship.
People today want and need to know the truth. Absolute truth is found only in the scriptures, so we seek to lead people to the truth as found in His word. The Bible is the basis for all preaching, and there is no hesitation to speak on any subject which is found in the scriptures.
An Invitation is offered in every Sunday service. An individual has truly worshipped God only when there is a response of obedience to the encounter with Him. The Invitation gives everyone the opportunity to respond either publicly or privately to the Lord’s moving in his or her life. To make a public commitment, simply walk to the front of the auditorium during the Invitation time toward the end of the service. The pastor will greet you, and a trained counselor will pray with you and rejoice with you.
Congregational singing is very important in a typical worship service. A combination of traditional and contemporary songs, using projected lyrics accompanied by our band (piano, keyboard, guitar, drums), are used in almost all services. Including the new along with the old gives the opportunity for all ages to worship in unity while singing songs that relate to him or her personally.
Normally, a choir sings for each service, accompanied by instrumental tracks.
